BIOGRAPHY
I started my musical career at a very young age in Kingston Jamaica, My uncle, Norris Weir, from the Reggae group (The Jamaicans ) were rehearsing at my Grandmother's home in Maxfield avenue, Kingston. I used to listen to the band and was influenced by their music.
My uncle (Lawrence Weir) and his two friends (Delroy "Lassie" Melody) and (Jacob "Killer" Miller sstarted a group called the School Boys. They invite me to practice with them at times, and during that time Lawrence taught me how to play the guitar.
When I started High School I became friends with Leon Brown and Ladely Brown. We formed the group called The Fantells, and started rehearsing at Tulip Lane at Drumman Street behind the Kingston Public Hospital alongside another group called Earth and Stone. We also hangout with two other groups called (The Itals) and the (Kingstonians). The Fantells collaborated and recorded some songs with (Joe Gibbs) and one song became a hit song "Holigan".
We went on to record five songs for ( King Jammy's) and also a few songs for ( Lee Scratch Perry at the black ark studio, we also did some work with Bunny Striker Lee, we also did some work with Roy Francis at the mixing Lab Studio , and a producer call Zulu. Zulu has a brother called Donnavon who is one of the keyboard player in (The Fab 5 band ).
Ladely Brown departed from our group, so we brought in another member called (Trevor Shields) he was in a group called ( The Belltones )They had a hit song ( No more Heartache ) and a few others smash hits.
We changed the name of our group from Fantells to Belltones, but because of political reasons we shortly revert back to the Fantells.
(We teamed up with Fab, 5, leader ( Frankie Campbell ) along with ( The Fab. 5 Group ) who took us on tour throughout Jamaica, performing in Hotels from Negril to Kingston,
We performed in 90% of the Cinemas Throughout Jamaica, Frankie Campbell and The Fab. 5 Group were of tremendous support to us . We learned a lot from them which motivates me to love and respect the music.
I later migrated to Florida and started working as a solo artist I move from Florida to Maryland and teamed up with my cousins and their band called Inner Force.
My cousin Pierre helped me improved my skills on the guitar. We toured with ( Al Brown of the Reggae version of Al Green Here I am baby ) for a few years.
We toured 48 states in the USA and Played in all of the major Reggae Clubs,.
I relocated back to Florida where I met Peter Lewis and Kewin Brown who is my relative, Joe Fagon and Eurtis Williams. We formed a band called Reel Rock.
We backed most of the reggae artistes coming from Jamaica and other artists living in South Florida
We did it for a few years and ( The Miami times ) dubbed us as the number one reggae band in South Florida.
Later years we changed our name from the Reel Rock to our present day (The Millennium Band ).
The former drummer left the band and we linked up with Osbourne Elliott our current drummer.
We started touring with artist like,( Freddie McGreggor )
(Glen Washington) ( Sanchez ) ( Lady Saw ) ( Tinga Stewart ) ( Ken Booth) ( Marcia Griffith) (Leroy Sibbles )
( Luciano,) (Richie Stephens) ( The Melodians) ( Elephant man ) ( Laddin) ( Admiral Tibbet) (Frankie Paul) (Admiral Bailey) ( General Trees ) and many others.
We have toured Europe, Japan, South America ,The Virgin Islands and other Caribbean Island .
After much assessment and thinking , I decided to break from backing other artist and to focus on my own music and songs that I have been writing. I recorded 4 albums and had a few number one hit songs on the south Florida top ten Reggae Chart .
